John Colantuono

This show represents a changing in focus for artist John F. Colantuono. A departure from his earlier work, John was inspired by photos taken by his wife, Lonna Kelly, a photographer, during a visit to a dilapidated chapel. John began a new series representing centuries old walls with frescos in disrepair.

The evolution continued as John work began to feature mysterious figures. Walk of the Four Travels represents the next step in our lives, moving from one existence to another. The otherworldly figures are  emerging, or perhaps leaving. Vibrant colors and textures are used freely.

Responding to the chaos of daily news and politics, John has gravitated toward angels. These strong winged beings hold swords and are ready for battle whether it be illness or war.
