Her work consists primarily of “painting letters and words”. Maureen enjoys interpreting
the words of others or simply experimenting with the abstract forms of the alphabet in
many historical and contemporary styles Her tools range from traditional steel nibs, pointed and flat brushes to reeds, bamboo and as she puts it, “anything that writes”. She writes with ink, liquid acrylic, gouache, Japanese watercolors and acrylic paint. She doesn’t limit her work to the alphabet and enjoys forays into landscape painting and colorful abstracts
