Sharon Nakazato

During my 8+ years working and studying in Japan, I was privileged to be tutored in the discipline of Asian Brush Calligraphy by a Japanese master. Some time after moving to NY I also returned to working in a wide range of mixed western media. Yet I’m told the Japanese sense of space and form and sensitivity to line—and underlying spirituality based in a deep desire to touch and express love in the natural world—is discernible in everything I do, from abstract to figure drawing/painting to collage to landscape. Even my most abstract work contains a reference to the world around and in me. My wish is to share that joy with others who choose to make my art a part of their lives.
